Our family business began in 1950 in Canton, IL, by our grandfather, Jimmy Greer, who built the company on a straightforward philosophy: treat people fairly, take pride in your craft, and stand behind what you do. That foundation has never wavered.
After teaching his sons the trade, Jimmy became ill, and his son, Kent Matthew Greer, stepped in to carry the family business forward. In 1997, Kent acquired a small air conditioning company out of Lancaster called Banner Air and merged the two companies together. In 2003, he incorporated the company under its present name, Greer’s Banner Air of Bakersfield, Inc.
Today, the third and fourth generations of the Greer family carries that tradition forward. When Kent Greer's daughter, Erica, joined the business after earning her degrees from BC and CSUB, she brought fresh perspective to a company with deep roots, a combination that keeps Greer's Banner Air both time-tested and forward-thinking. For the last eight years, her son, Nathaniel, has worked alongside Kent and Erica, learning the trade from his grandpa. He has been taught our family's way, with respect for the customer, respect for the work, and respect for the family name. Nathaniel has grown up in this business and is now helping carry Greer's Banner Air into its next generation.
